Whale Watching at
Rancho
El Gaspareņo

Some
of the finest shore based whate watching can be found in front of Rancho
El Gaspareņo. Watching whales swim and frolic very close to shore and in
large numbers, sometimes 20 and more. There are several local tour
guides that provide whale watching tours and some mention Punto El
Gasparaneo as there destination, the best whale watching on the coast.
Imagine the interest you could create if you had some type of restaurant
and viewing platform, which could cater to groups looking for this very
unique experience. Maybe with a Hotel as well. As referenced previously,
there is no other location on the Pacific Coast, located from Cabo San
Lucas to Todos Santos along Highway 19 the main road, that is as
viewable, has the closest proximity and accessibility to the beach as
does Rancho El Gaspareņo!
Did You Know? The humpback whale is one of the
rorquals,
a family that also includes the blue whale, fin whale, Bryde's
whale, sei whale, and minke whale.
Rorquals have two characteristics in common: dorsal fins on their
backs, and ventral pleats running from the tip of the lower jaw back to
the belly area. The shape and color pattern on the humpback
whale's dorsal fin and flukes (tail) are as individual in each animal as
are fingerprints in humans. |
